§01THE EXPORT, IN FIVE CLICKS

How to export your eBay transaction report.

The short answer: Seller Hub, Payments tab, Reports in the left menu, Transaction report. The full path, the trap in step 2, and what happens while you wait are below.

§02THE EXACT PATH

  1. 1

Open Seller Hub and go to the Payments tab.

    ebay.com/sh/fin takes you straight there

  2. 2

In the menu on the left, choose Reports.

This Reports lives inside Payments — not the Reports tab of Seller Hub

  3. 3

Pick Transaction report from the download section.

Not the financial statement, which is a monthly PDF

  4. 4

Choose the transaction type and the start and end dates.

eBay's own instructions put no cap on the range

  5. 5

Select Create report, then wait for the email that says it is ready.

It is generated, not downloaded on the spot

If the Payments menu shows no Reports entry at all, the direct address ebay.com/sh/fin/reportslanding lands on the same page. That link comes from an eBay community mentor, not from eBay itself.

§03THREE DOWNLOADS, ONE IS RIGHT

Transaction report

A CSV of every financial line: sales, fees, refunds, holds, payouts. This is the one this page is about.

Orders report

A CSV of what you sold, from the Manage orders page. The orders report tells you what you sold; the transaction report tells you what happened to the money.

Financial statement

A monthly PDF, kept downloadable for 10 years. Useful for old periods, but it is a statement, not a file you can analyze.

§04WHERE SELLERS GET STUCK

You are in the wrong Reports.

Seller Hub has a Reports tab for listing and order templates. The transaction report hides one level deeper, under Payments. If the left menu offers no Reports, you are not on the Payments tab.

The file is not instant.

eBay generates the report and emails you when it is ready. The email usually arrives within minutes, but closing the page will not cancel anything.

You are on your phone.

The report is generated in Seller Hub on the web, so open ebay.com/sh/fin in a browser. The download works from a phone browser, and the CSV waits in your email afterwards.

The times look wrong by an hour or two.

eBay warns that report times can differ from your records because of time zones. Count a sale in the day eBay recorded it, not the day you remember shipping it.

§05HOW FAR BACK TO GO

eBay’s own instructions set no limit on the date range, so pick the period you actually want to judge. Blogs quote 90-day caps and multi-year limits in both directions; we found no official number, so we print none.

For a Reality Check, we ask for 90 days or more. A Keep Rate from two weeks of sales hides the refunded, the returned and the slow-paying weeks behind a lucky streak.

Before creating the report you can also customize its columns — transaction, payout, shipping, item and buyer sections. The default set already carries everything our checkup reads.

§06ONCE YOU HAVE THE FILE

The report tells you what happened.
The checkup tells you what it cost you.

Drop the CSV in and get your Keep Rate — the share of every dollar sold that you kept. Free, unlimited, no account.
